A lot of my coaching clients have a sick fantasy.
It might be yours, too:
That they can just post on LinkedIn, never comment or engage with people, and immediately start making bananas money from inbound leads.
Well I hate to break it to you…. That’s delulu. SOCIAL media is SOCIAL.
Would you also rather stab yourself in the eye with a rusty spear than spend time writing and commenting on LinkedIn? You gotta change your mindset.
That's why I have some tips to make it more bearable:
Figure out whose content you genuinely enjoy: Ideally, this is a mix of experts in your industry and people whose content appeals to your soul.
Double bell them, so you have automatic reminders to interact with their content. Leave a few comments every day, and have FUN with it. Then turn some of those comments into posts. Two birds brutally murdered with one stone!
Reflect on what you want to know about your audience: We all know the trope of ending a post with ‘what do you think?’ when it’s clear that the author does not give a singular fart.
Change this horrible LinkedIn pattern by making a list of questions for your readers that you GENUINELY want to know the answer to. You can turn these one-liners into posts of their own, polls, or use them as CTAs.
Don’t sit alone, start a conversation: I’ve had so many opportunities slide into my DMs because I interacted with them in the comments, shot them a compliment, or recommended their page. None of these things would happen if I simply hit post and then was an anti-social loser.
And last but not least: Don’t complain about your lack of conversations with leads if you have a ton of unanswered connection requests. YOU ARE THE PROBLEM.
Want the accountability, and the slightly unhinged peer pressure, to actually do all of this consistently?
The next Make LinkedIn Weird cohort starts September 3, and there are only 2 spots left.
For four weeks, you’ll stop treating LinkedIn like a slot machine and learn how to:
Post consistently without sounding like everyone else
Build genuine relationships with the right people
Find your voice and discover your content pillars
Create a LinkedIn routine that doesn’t kill your soul
Enrollment closes Sunday, August 30…. or sooner if both spots are claimed. DRAMA.
I haven’t scheduled the next cohort yet, so if you’ve been waiting to join, this is your moment.

Lots of love,
Jillian
P.S. The cohort begins in 17 days. Your September LinkedIn strategy could either look exactly like your August strategy… or you could spend those four weeks actually nailing it like a smart person.
