Hi there, my beautiful weirdo!
Welcome back to your favorite series:
How To LinkedIn 101! Today’s lesson:
How to get recommendations.
You know, recommendations. Those words of praise that potential clients see when they’re lightly stalking you and scroll to the bottom of your profile.
But then, sometimes, there’s nothing there. NOTHING. Then they wonder: are you a fraud? A bot? Has everyone who’s ever met you despised your SOUL? HAVE YOU MURDERED ALL YOUR CLIENTS?!
EVERYONE CALM DOWN.
There’s actually a really easy way to get recommendations from living people. Just follow these 3 easy steps:
1. Go to your website, or wherever you save client testimonials. Bask in the praise you received.
2. Scroll to the bottom of your LinkedIn and hit the plus sign next to ‘recommendations.’ Then hit ‘Ask for recommendation.’
3. Type in the name of the person who gave you the rec you want to show up on LinkedIn. Say:
"Hey X! A while ago, you were generous enough to give me this testimonial. It’s below. Are you willing to copy and paste this as a recommendation for LinkedIn? I want to show off our work."
And voila! You have recommendations.
Bonus: this is a great way to get back in touch with old clients. Returning customer, anyone?
Love ya,
Jillian
PS. Want to start being active on LinkedIn, but not sure where to start— and scared to post? Know that you should be commenting, but unsure how to do it strategically?
Recording available for those who can’t attend live!

Those are my chompers!
