I did a poll this week, asking people what they read on someone’s profile when they’re creeping on them.

After 769 votes, the answers were:

- 23% just read the about section
- 12% just read the job description
- 41% read both
- 23% say it depends

Then there were all the people in the comments giving their own custom spin:

- “I read their headline and then their most recent posts”
- “I scroll through their employment history like a Wikipedia rabbit hole” 
- “I go to their very last photo and like it, just to show I’m paying attention” (yes, that was a real comment)

The lesson?

When someone is sleuthing to potentially give you an opportunity, you don’t know which type of social media creep they are.

Your safest bet: to have your WHOLE profile rock-solid. Which you know. But you keep putting the rewrite off.
