Hi there, my shining star!
Welcome back to LinkedIn 101!
Today’s lesson: what the hell to do with your banner.
You know, the space at the top of your profile that floats above your profile picture.
It might seem obvious, but you should use this space to communicate something about your brand to the people who are virtually stalking you!
I’m shocked by the amount of people who use this space for:
A photo of a random field?
A shot of the ocean for some reason?
The other picture from the photoshoot they paid for, with no additional info
Unsure what to put? Here are 3 options:
A bulletin board of previous client logos. Choose this option if you have heavy-hitting, recognizable brand names!
The tagline that didn’t make it into your LinkedIn headline. Don’t repeat the same info twice! Give your audience something new.
Stats that will make your customers drool. What kinds of numbers can they expect from working with you? A great template is I help (type of person) increase their (important stat) by (number). HOT.
If your banner sucks, go ahead and set a timer for 5 minutes. Check out the pre-made LinkedIn banners on Canva, and customize it a little.
When you return, are you like… man, I wish I had someone who could walk me through this whole profile makeover?
My 4-week course, Make LinkedIn Weird, has an option for EXACTLY THAT!
You’ll learn how to post without fear, develop your brand voice, and have a content strategy for when you fly the nest.
Plus, I’ll rewrite your entire LinkedIN FOR YOU. How easy is that?!
Spots are capped at 10 people, and 4 are already taken!
